I won a meat raffle

As part of our social life, David and I became members of the RSL (Returned Services Leagues) Club and part of the benefit is receiving a birthday card on one's birthday with a free dinner, a glass of drink and a raffle ticket.

So- one night in December I dragged the housemates over to the club as I didn't feel like cooking- I had some Pork steak and guess what- I won a $50 Meat raffle with my ticket. I was really feeling lucky that night- it was all worth it...and to think that membership only costs $11.00 per year....It's a great place to take visitors to and enjoy a drink while enjoying the bayside view, viewing the Port of Brisbane and Airport- some music and dancing..

This year's christmas tree and decorations

I believe that Christmas is for children. Since Vivian was born in December, to entertain her as a child, we played Christmas carols, put up the christmas tree, wrapped up gifts- made up or real to put under the christmas tree, decorate - in short- we really get into the christmas spirit. In the past it was solely my responsibility to get those adornments up. For the past years, the kids were enthusiastic to help but it turned into a messy chaos. Now with 3 of us, the men of the house assembled the tree, helped me hang the decors then added the lights. David loves to have some fancy lights and to lace the tree with a lot of baubles. He bought and installed a multi-colored blinking light that's really nice. Too bad I can't catch it on camera.
Anyway, here are some photos- more photos are present on the album. The album that I mentioned there is actually in Multiply as my blogs there cross here- isn't that convenient?

Part of last year's christmas decorations at home..

It was indeed a very busy week, end of the month work load, hosting our department's christmas buffet lunch at the Clubhouse and cooking vivian's favourite lunch and of course the usual weekend chores and additional christmas stuff like shopping for cards/gifts- posting or delivering them in time- planning for christmas parties and dinners...thank God Viv's lunch here is now out of the way, one more xmas party to host and a couple to attend to plus preparations for trip to the Phils/Singapore towards the end of the month. Thank God passport of the hubby and tickets are here...just have to look for a hotel in singapore and some touristy activities to entertain us while there..these can wait...

These are just my ramblings this sunday morning...must get ready soon to attend the sunday service.. photos featured here were of last year's december shots - need to download the latest ones yet- will feature in future blogs.

For the meantime, here are some old photos (1-2 years old but has not been posted)

I wonder what your activities are for the christmas....
