my dream is to visit san francisco one day and other updates

I am on sick leave for a couple of days. One of those times when I have to see a doctor as I am experiencing dizzy spells while lying on the bed and feeling really nauseated at times. My weekend was spent in bed- sick! Anyway with blood tests, doctors appointments and magic pills and ginger teas, everything is under control.

Work suffers though- just a bit stressed with the rigours of moving from the 3rd floor to the 5th floor, with a barrage of online trainings - gee i can't really wait to get on with it! and maybe this work stress is giving me all these symptoms to get away from it haha! i think i prefer the 3rd floor.....

My sweet friend Janet from Taipei ( i will visit this place one day....) was so kind to cheer me up with photos of San Francisco(photo featured in my previous blog), one of the cities i'd like to visit one day. I want to share them with you here.

other updates....

Ray started university this week- Universityof Queensland and the course is (thank God it wasn't music...yet!)..Bachelor of Business Management majoring in Real Estate and Property Development- he is currenly into Buffett, Trump, investment books and magazines...hope that he will keep at it and he will make me a millionaire's mum one day hahaha..just wishful thinking! it does not really matter for as long as he is happy and leaves me alone...sometimes.....

David is back to his normal upholstery work and on the weekend the renovation project at home was resumed with a vengeance, with the front staircase being upgraded and the two driveways partly cemented..yuhooo! maybe the mess around the house is giving me stress..i should actually start cleaning up soon to lessen the stressor. should find someone to help me....

have a lovely day!

How we spend our Anniversary/Valentine's Day

Valentine/anniversary day was a usual busy workday for David and I. We didn't even have enough time buy gifts for each other or arrange dinner somewhere. Maybe the novelty had worn off...In the past I received potted plants or flower, sweet cards, chocolates and even jewelries. This time though, after our big trip, we mutually didn't feel like giving each other gifts. I am not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.'

We did something though- since Ray wasn't at home, we made a spontaneous decision to just eat some take-aways in Chermside (if Ray was home we normally cook supper)- where he normally picks me up after work. I told him that I wanted to watch a movie called Rendition. He was gracious to oblige, so we went to check out the schedule...6.40 pm (perfect!). so we bought the tickets at 5.15 pm and had first pick of the choicest seats. We ordered and ate our chinese take-away food at the mall, strolled down to Myers and bought a card reader (for my camera) then proceeded to the cinema (Birch, Carroll and Coyle). We were the first ones there. There were just a few people who came it- less than 20! but it was cool.

Verdict- great movie, spellbinding and intense. One of the best I've seen in a couple of years. We both liked it.

We really enjoyed our day- we didn't spend much either- $20 for takeaways and $30 for the movies - $50 in total- so far the cheapest spending for a celebration. When we got home we had a glass each of red wine from the cask.

It was really a blessing in disguise that we didn't get a booking earlier in fancier restaurants. We felt happy and just enjoyed each other's company!

Eventful Meetings with Dedel, Melisa and daughters Cassie and Alex and Manang PI and Ma.Len

I love staying at the Manila Hotel while in the Philippines mainly because of its historical background. It was the place where Douglas MacArthur stayed with his family until the Japanese got the better of him.... it's been the site of a lot of other events which are all archived in its own museum..

But anyway it also created a historical and momentous event for me because it's the place where I met Dedel, Melisa (my 'ading'- little sis) and Manang PI. More photos can be viewed here

Special mention goes to my friend from Bicol, Ma.len whom I had the chance to speak with at length. To my surprise and excitement she sent me a whole lot of goodies from Bicol. Photos are located here !

Words cannot express enough my appreciation and excitement in connecting with them in person and on the phone!
