A reminder from friends

I was away for awhile from this blog because i've been minding other things and happily blogging at yahoo360 and I forgot that I also have this to maintain.

Today, our friends Eva, Brian and their son Matt called in to check on us as we have not contacted them for awhile. They've just been to NZ due to Brian's mom just passed away, had a lovely holiday in Cairns and are here to celebrate Father's day with a walk around Redcliffe. It's so nice to see them again and I got reminded re. my tax (which I am doing this couple of weeks) and also that we have friends like them who never forget us despite this busy whurly life we lead- working and looking after our domestic affairs. More on Eva's family on People....

David and I have started on various projects like the carport, computer room, kitchen and gibbing the walls at home and we hardly have time to socialise and much less blog.. I know that some of our followers here have 'deserted' us as there are no fresh news.

It's father's day today so I take this opportunity to remember my Dad with love and fondness and some information about my Dad can be found here and here.

A Dinner at Sofitel for a Mother and a Son

The school of ray sponsored a luncheon exclusively for mother (or significant female as they called it) and son at the Sofitel in Brisbane. There were about 90 students who attended and it was such a wonderful time for mum and son to spend time together, bond and be with other fellow classmates and their moms.

A Poem Written and for ME!!!!

For the first time in my entire life, someone had actually written a poem for me and guess who wrote it? Ray.... on mother's day 2007. This must be one of the most treasured gifts I'll ever have in my life- it's kinda corny but it's TRUE!
It's untitled though. And here' s our conversation after my overwhelming emotion of gratitude and shock.....

Me Gee, I can sell this poem to a magazine for a fortune
Ray No, you won't
Me why not?
Ray Because I have the Copyright
Me But you've given it to me
Ray Yes I did write it for you , but I own the copyright.
Me OK- as long as when you get rich, can you pay off my mortgage.
Ray Of course.....
end of conversation
there- it's in black and white that he agreed to pay my mortgage ...hahaha! i doubt it...
.....and here's the poem
dear mumbles
i've known you for 17 years of your life
you've known me for all of mine
you've provide me a childhood free of strife
because of you, everyday will shine

we have had altercations in the past
you taught me right from wrong
and for how much longer life will last
i'll always know it was you who made me strong

patient, kind, loving, funny, playful and wise you are
there's nothing as important to me in this world as you
you are my guidance and everything more
because of you I am going to get through.
happy mumbles day!!!
love you forever Ray xoxoxoxoxoxo

Happy Mothers Day to you all

Especially to the 2 wonderful women in my life who loved me, guided me, made me laugh and cry, who cooked great food for me, taught me great values that I still have and passed on to my own children ... they would be the ones who would wish me well and good all the time. I think they thought that I was beautiful too *(hahaha!) when I was a baby....

May our good Lord bless you always and may you both continue to enjoy good health, happiness and peace. I always think of both of you everyday. I love you both.

Loving daughter and niece, Vicky.

I also featured Mama here, last year's mother's day.
